My Journey to Singapore

I have been away... um, hi? :B
So how are things while I'm away? I haven't rest as much as I did before (lol, pig) I come down to Johor Bahru... That's what I can say.
I have been walking non-stop everyday since I got to Singapore. I just go everywhere and anywhere but haven't been to many other places yet.
Yup... I haven't been to Marina Bay Sands, see the Merlion, and definitely not Universal Studio yet. Well, maybe one day I will go to those places.

Anyways, during the whole trip from Kuala Lumpur, to Johor Bahru, and to Singapore, I have drawn some sketches. I've posted them on my Facebook Page:

One of the sketches. This was when I'm stuck at the Second Link Custom from Johor Bahru to Singapore.
*Do not mind the spelling, grammar and weird looking mistakes. I'm exhausted throughout my journey back and forth lol!

Also, I made the biggest mistake of eating spicy and fried food while traveling. So my journey is basically me having sore-throat.

C'mon... those are awesome Pontian Wan Tan Mee ok. You should try.

I met a lot of lovely new people during these few days. I met my old friends, even the ones I haven't seen or hung out for ages. I may have two or more comics to come, so keep it a look out! They are from when I hung out with one of my friends who you may be familiar with! :)

Also, Just look at these beautiful view that I took using my iPhone from Vivo City. Just look at it.

Right, so before I head back down to Johor Bahru, I used a good hour and a half to sketch these.

Haven't sketch like that in years (honestly).

So, before I end my blog entry here, I need to tell you something.

Singapore is very duh HOT!
Even Johor Bahru...

Birthday Cake

I have this awesome friend who I greet as "woman" every time. Today is her birthday and so I made this comic for her.

She gave me a birthday cake on my nineteenth birthday and it is the best gift I ever had, since I haven't had birthdays celebrated like that for a long time.

Mango flavoured. Mmmm.

Thank you for being such a great friend, woman :3

Happy Birthday!!

Sorry Snail

Crazy how time passed and it is May now!! Also, crazy to think that I have been blogging since late last year or early this year! Anyways, an interesting story to begin this month.

There are times that I remember what happened during the past that makes me cringe. This bad memory that isn't supposed to pin into my head. But I got a flashback the other day that and I want to share it...

It wasn't done intentionally! I really couldn't see what's on the ground in front of me at that time because it was hella windy and I need to block the wind with my umbrella. It happened like when I was about 14/ 15 years old I think. Horrific. I was really sorry, so sorry.

Have you stepped on anything alive before?
*CRINGE*

*There will be a second part of this next week.

Drawing Bestie (part two)

As promised, here's the second part of the story. My first childhood best friend. If you haven't read the first one, HERE it is.

So yea, as of now, it would be a miracle if I ever meet him again. It's also a miracle if he could even recognise me. Anyways, I hope he is happy and healthy wherever he is.

Update:
I might have some changes. It could be my drawings, styles and many others that I want to improve in. So I might be back with something different once I'm comfortable with the changes. However, I do need to take some time off blogging and keep my updates on Facebook! So I'll be sure to come back with something fresh for you! Be patient with me, alright? :) *hugs*

*And oh, regarding the sad news on MH370, I sincerely hope that everyone will find their closure. No matter what, we need to keep our thoughts and prayers to those who are involved with/ in this incident. Be sensitive. Hope for the best. Don't give up. My heart goes out to all the families and friends.

"Ow-Wow"

I looked like Chibi Maruko-chan when I was really young.
I had a weird way of calling dogs. Maybe not just dogs...

Something to think about...

That Awkward Handshake

Hey chums! Have you encounter anything like this? This shit is cray cray.

I don't know man... It's awkward as hell. Why can't you go around towards your friend man?! In between?! Why? Just why? =..="

WHY MAN?!

My Ideal Date

Oi!
Valentine's Day coming on Friday! You plan out your date already or not?!
No worries, I could give you some ideas of what might be suitable for your date or for someone like me.
"Pfft. Might as well just say how I want MY date to be like."
No lah... haha

To me, if I were to be with someone who I love, spending time together every day is something to be appreciated anyways! You don't have to appreciate that ONE day only with the one you love. Valentine's Day is a day where you could do something special and memorable together. But hey, why not make EVERY moment special in every day with him/her? If I were to spend time having it special on Valentine's Day, I don't mind it all not being fancy shmancy. No need candle light dinner- just us hanging out.

Yea... I just want to do things together. That'll be worth the 'special day' and memories to be kept. I don't like going on a movie date, because I'm watching movie, not him. I don't like going out to a candle light dinner, because I don't like spending so much money for a damn dinner then go home even though I ain't the one paying. I just don't ask too much.
But I love roses though... so... HEHE

How are you spending your special day with him/ her?

My Valentine's Day 2014

So, how are you planning to spend on your Valentine's Day since it is around the corner?
Are you single? Taken?
What do you do when you're single? Date with your girlies? Hang out with your bros? Eat and sleep?
What do you do when you're taken? Do you have a ritual? Simple, fun or romantic?

Let me tell you how I celebrate every year since grade 6. I ALWAYS buy boxes of chocolates and distribute to my classmates, schoolmates, friends, teachers and of course; my crush.
I remember I either distribute them in the morning before the lesson begun or during my lunch break. It's like an every year ritual to me since then and until back in college. It's fun and I love giving a little happiness :)

But then... Since I have a long break now, and don't really meet my friends because they are spreaded really far away from where I stay, I don't get to do this. :( </3

I guess I'll eat chocolates alone at home. TT^TT

Grasshopper Hunting

What's one your favourite memories back in pre-school?
I have one, a great one actually.
I used to hunt grasshoppers with my great friend, Jess, back then when we are in primary four. I've studied in an international school back in Shanghai for two years.
It was a great experience.

So then, every recess time, we would always run to the hilly field of our school right after we had our lunch.
Let me tell you, there weren't just grasshoppers that we hunt.
There were PLENTY of different types of bugs in the field.
It was almost like a bug kingdom or some sort.

Anyways, that's not the point.
The point is that me and this really good friend of mine were used to LOVE hunting grasshoppers and set them free individually at our own home's garden.

Hey you, you despise bugs?- I wasn't. But now I do.

Now that I'm living in a landed house, there's always bound to have grasshoppers hanging out in my garden. I've even seen a ton of hatchlings/ babies on my mum's freaking potted plants.
Seriously, I'm cringing while typing these.

No thanks, I'll just 'nope' my way out of your sight.

"Play With Yourself"

Hey there!
I'm posting almost every single day yea?
Yea...

Anyways, this post is about what happened during a lecture back in college.
We all have that moment where we capture our inside jokes or just tease a little here and there. Especially when you sit right beside your really close friend during lectures.

So here's what happened.

"Play with yourself."

We are the 'best' students ever.

Can't disclose who the lecturer is. However, I think he/ she isn't teaching at the college I've studied anymore.
It's a memory to remember.

2014 Resolutions

Time just passes in a blink of an eye. We have to say farewell to 2013. I didn't even catch on how fast the time pass especially in celebrations and festivals happened this year. Maybe mainly because it wasn't seem as festive this year. I'm sitting here thinking- what happened this year during Chinese New Year, Raya, Deepavali, and Christmas? It's way too fast.

I had mentioned some of the memories that pinned into my head on my post on My Rewind 2013- http://doseofabbyness.blogspot.com/2013/12/my-rewind-2013.html earlier when I just started my blog. Pretty much most of them are on the happy things that I have written are on positive notes I experienced this year. I appreciate knowing and cherish so many people in my life in 2013. I had some fun back in college, went to places with my mates. However, it did not end there, because recently I have both bad and good experiences as well.

Just recently, probably about a week ago, I've lost a friend I knew back in high school. It still hits me knowing she's my first friend who had passed away. But what I do know is that it is inevitable. We have to move on and what's more important is to understand that things just go the way it is. We couldn't change the past but we could appreciate what we have NOW. Never take anything for granted. It's now or never.

Furthermore, I celebrated Christmas in a cozy way this year. Didn't go anywhere, just being with family and stay cozy at home. Visited a family friend on Christmas Eve, exchanged presents. Nothing much this year. It just doesn't seemed as exciting as I could remember since young. Maybe growing up, I feel like I do not expect more from others. I did not expect anything from my family. All that matters are the thoughts that count and being together on Christmas. However, I did got a pair of bracelets from my mum. It is pretty :) Blogged on it as well!- http://doseofabbyness.blogspot.com/2013/12/not-so-exciting-christmas.html

Not too long ago on the 28th, I've met a Malaysian comic artist, Ernest Ng! It was a book signing event as it is his first ever comic book series. He is known mainly as a webcomic artist who owns this blog- http://dontlikethatbro.blogspot.com/. Go check his comics out you will not regret it! My blog post on it is here- http://doseofabbyness.blogspot.com/2013/12/hi-finally-bro-dont-like-that-la-bro.html. He likes the gifts I gave him! ^_^ Yay!

Aside from those shenanigans, I have realized that I have little improvement on my body. My tummy is a little smaller than compared to early 2013. I've cut down soda drinks and snacks a lot. However, early this year until September I was still studying at college. So I did still consume some fast food during that time of the year. But I refrained soft drinks for nearly about a year now. Instead of taking those unhealthy drinks, I have been taking up more hot green tea, chinese tea, water, fruit juices, and coffee. Definitely lost maybe about few inches on my waist now, didn't measure anything but I do realize it myself. I realize it by looking at how many new trousers I had restocked this year. Haha.

Oh so now we move on to New Year's Resolutions huh? Let me just tell you, I did not do any resolutions for my 2013. However, I did wished that it could be somewhat a good year. I had some ups and downs but I never regret some of the experiences I had. So before I move on to discuss on my New Year's Resolutions of 2014, I would like to point out that some may just be utter bullshit. Let's face it. Procrastination is always the obstacle to whatever you want to do. Moreover, choices of what you make to look forward to achieve, may change its directions whenever there are also other obstacles. That is why I'm always hoping for the best but do not get my hopes way too high generally. Things should be balanced. Nothing's perfect.

So here are my New Year's Resolutions:
  1. Smile more, what's the worse it could happen? It doesn't cause pain. Just smile more, smile away. Smile genuinely, even taking pictures!
  2. Wishes that my family and friends are healthy and happy.
  3. Wishes to get to know EVEN MORE people in my life.
  4. Get my driving licence- yes I'm way too slow.
  5. Try going to more places- explore.
  6. TRY NOT TO CHANGE HAIRSTYLES LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS.
  7. Draw more.
  8. Try not to worry too much in life. Everything just come and go. Whatever happens, happens.
  9. Love my body. This sounds cliche, but you have to love your body and be healthy. I've been improved a little on this one and I will continue to do so.
  10. ^due to the above list, I'm going to be determined to eat healthier next year.
  11. Don't care what other thinks about me. I love how just the way I am. If I do not like certain part of me, I will know it, and I will change it.
  12. I know trusting people is hard. It is REALLY hard to give in easily. But sometimes, I just have to give in to people who trusts ME.
  13. Be smart in knowing the people around me. Not everyone is nice, nor is everyone bad.
  14. To find myself- sounds so weird but um, I have to realize who I really am at this point.
  15. Find something that I really want to do and continue to do so.
  16. Less hesitance, more engagement.
  17. Appreciate what I have while I still can.
  18. Enjoy the most when I have the chance.
  19. Grab hold onto chances that I can get. Don't blow it away.
  20. Be more confident.
  21. Don't push people away when you need help or when they need your help, vice versa.
  22. Meet up with my old friends even more whenever I could.
  23. Learn to love.

Some of them may sound pathetic to you, but to me they mean so much. All I wish for in life is just happiness in general. There can be new and tough/ tougher lessons to face in the future, but it's not going to stop me for accomplishing some of the things I've mentioned above. At least some. I don't ask for more, but it will be great when things in 2014 goes amazingly memorable. I have hope.

So what do you wish for your New Year? A new start? Or simply just walk the life like how you do and see how it goes?

On that note, 2014, please be good to me.

Side note, I recently just started using Dayre. If you would like to see what goes on in a random daily basis, feel free to follow me :)

Bye 2013, you've been good to me.
